Seven chicks last thursday, I had to crack the last two a little to hurry them along into the world, they are doing well, but the worry is always there that they might be weakish as they lacked a little of initial muscule power. Two eggs did not do much, one dead chick in one, rotten matter in the other. All of the five blue eggs have hatched. Mother very attentive, she looks twice her usual size, all feathers puffed up to accomodate all progeny. Two kids this morning. both male. Mother proud and efficient. Ah the joys of spring !
As I am not playing shop this saturday here is a Polish bakery to stare at until my return to Knockvicar on easter saturday.
